New Beginnings Farm is offering horseback riding camps specializing in teaching a basic balanced position, horsemanship, and providing fun outdoor activities. This camp is perfect for riders of all ages and levels. We have beginner school horses perfect for the most beginner and timid of riders, as well as intermediate/advanced horses who can school higher level dressage movements and jump 3’3 courses. New Beginnings Farm is all about meeting individual’s wants and needs so we are able to facilitate both english and western riding. Riding sessions will include trail rides, riding with cows, mounted games, jumping, dressage, lunge lessons, and bareback riding depending on the camper’s riding level and desires. When not riding campers will learn all about horse care and participate in horse related arts and crafts. The day is finished off with a self packed lunch and supervised swimming. Campers with their own horse are welcome to keep their horse at New Beginnings Farm for the duration of the camp at no additional charge. We keep our camp numbers low to allow for a more personal and safe environment so be sure to let us know if you are interested in attending so that we can reserve your spot!
Our very own instructors Meredith and Dylan Philipps do! They both have years of experience with horses and teaching lessons. Meredith is a graduate of UNCG where she studied child development. Dylan is an avid competitor in Three Day Eventing, and a "B" and "H-A" United States Pony Clubber. Dylan and Meredith are both certified in First Aid and CPR. We typically recommend that our campers are 5 years of age or older and comfortable being away from their parents for the camp day. All levels of riders are welcome to our camp! We can introduce campers to horses for the first time or continue more experienced riders education.
Campers will need to wear long pants for riding and closed toe shoes for riding and being in the barn. Helmets are required while riding but New Beginnings Farm has a selection of helmets that can be borrowed for the duration of the camp. Campers will also need to bring a packed lunch, water, a change of clothes, and a towel for swimming.
In order to provide the safest situation for campers during the Covid19 pandemic we are keeping our already small numbers even smaller, allowing us to maintain social distancing. The camp is done in an outdoor setting further mitigating risks.
